# Tools

What an agent can do through the LeadUp MCP server, and the permission each tool needs.

| Tool | What it does | Needs |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `list_leads` | Lists the organization's leads, optionally filtered. | `leads:read` |
| `get_lead` | Reads one lead by id. | `leads:read` |
| `create_lead` | Adds a company as a new lead. | `leads:create` |
| `update_lead_stage` | Moves a lead to another stage, and optionally schedules the next follow-up. | `leads:update` |

The tools follow the same rules as the HTTP API: same organization boundary, same validation, same audit trail. An agent can never do more than the person who connected it.
